World Trade Center redevelopment update: site leaseholder Larry Silverstein isn't happy with any of the proposals he's seen so far, according to the New York Post:
NYPOST.COM Regional News: WTC PLANS SLAMMED By WILLIAM NEUMAN and ANDY SOLTIS
CommentsI hate every one of the proposal finalists. I think that the WTC plot of land is sacred and something very meaningful and inspirational should be built there.
I personally would like to propose a 110-story "Statue of Liberty" ( or other American hero) to stand on the site facing uptown Manhatten with her arms crossed and her head facing downward toward the city "watching over the city, guarding the city". I can just imagine how spectacular the skyline would become.
I would build a musuem at the foot of the statue dedicated to Sept 11. I find that this idea would be inspirational to generation after generation, as well as becoming a huge source of pride and an instant American Icon. If I had any say in the decision of what to build there- that is exactly what I would build.
i feel that the place is very sacred and nothing should be built over on it , it should be kept as it is after removing the debris as there must be many soul moving in and out . just a boundary or fencing should be made out there with as many entrances . no construction nothing it should be open to air with the land as it is exposed to air as it is now.
